Testing for Intelligence, that is the question?

Although many schools believe that a child's placement is based on how well or not so well they score on test. I believe that children should be tested to see how well they are progressing, but I do not solely believe this should determine where a child is placed. Some children are not test takers, and do not do well under pressure or during timed test. Some children excel throughout the school year, but score low on state required test. This does not necessarily mean the child does not know the information, but it could mean the child is not good at taking test. I truly believe if we have to assess children we should do it based on how they learn and are graded academically throughout the school year. I know some may disagree but this is just my thoughts. The school year is more relaxed and children for the most part can complete work at their  own pace, unlike state required test. I think this way would be best for all children. I think it would give them a better chance at b
